That's me!
Live passionately.
At 15 years old, I realized I was a writer—not that I wanted to be one or that it would be a cool job. I realized I've been a writer since before I could form the letters. It's in my bones.
I've worked every day since then to improve my craft in all realms, from creative to marketing to professional. I love to write—it makes me happy in a way nothing else can touch. My work is my passion. If you're here looking for help to spread your message, that means your work is your passion, too. We get along already!
I graduated Summa Cum Laude from Florida Southern College in 2012 with a degree in print journalism and a minor in English. My education was invaluable, especially split into two departments—I realized I loved all kinds of writing. And I had enough access to creative people to know I was most definitely one of them.
I cast a wide net with my interests—I became Editor-in-Chief of the student-run newspaper, The Southern, while having my creative work published in Cantilevers Journal of the Arts, FSC's student and alumni literary magazine. In fact, the guest writers in Cantilevers awarded me the Wesley Ryals Award in Fiction in 2013 and 2014.
After graduation, I joined the opening team at Chatter Buzz Media, a start-up that has since taken off like a rocket ship set for Media Moon. I also began my freelance career and became a staff writer for the West Orange Times, which is the same newspaper that has come to my parents' door every week since before I was born.
I moved to Tampa a year later to become the editorial assistant for Free Expressions Seminars and Literary Services, a company that offers independent book editing and widely attended literary conferences. While planning the social media posts and press releases and co-editing manuscripts for FESLS founder Lorin Oberweger, I also won the Judge's Prize for the 2013 Creative Loafing Fiction Contest. My name and an illustration of my story were published on the front page of the newspaper, which has a circulation of roughly 43,000.
Meanwhile, I expanded my freelancing work and picked up half a dozen new clients with a host of new writing projects. These include advertising content and editing services for clients like Publix and Crispers through The Fred Group; social media management for the Upward Spiral Center and the Atlantic Institute of Aromatherapy; and a complete website rewrite for Seibert Insurance Agency.
As you can see, I really am a hybrid of both the creative and professional writing worlds—and I bring both to everything I write. I'm also an adaptive writer, and I know the work I do for my clients isn't about me. It's about you—you and your voice. But you don't just want content that gets your point across. You want content with flair. Hire me, and you'll get it.
